A Flower Place is a full service floral shop located at 2200 W. 15th, Suite 116, Edmond (inside Crest Foods) locally owned by Celia Collins and Jan Polhemus, both life time residents of the Edmond area. A Flower Place, for the past nine years, has provided the best and freshest products available.
A Flower Place offers the following 5 easy steps to help you maintain high quality flowers and assure maximum vase life of your flowers. Flowers are alive, even after they are cut. Consequently you should give them special care.
1. In a clean disinfected vase prepare the fresh flower food solution packet, provided with each purchase, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A handy tip is to use a mixture of equal parts of 7up or Sprite and water if there is no flower food available.
2. Remove any leaves that may be under water since they will deteriorate quickly and contaminate the vase solution. However, keep as many leaves as possible on the stems, because they help draw the solution up the flowers
3. While holding the flowers under water, cut approximately 1 inch off each stem with a sharp knife or clippers. Place the flowers in the vase immediately. Avoid overcrowding too many flowers in the vase.
4. Arrange the flowers as you like. Always keep the flowers in flower food solution and keep this solution clean. Re-cut the stems every 3 to 4 days to assure maximum vase life.
5. Display your flowers in a cool area away from direct sunlight and heat or air conditioning drafts. Enjoy!
